Optometrist Open Saturday in Auburn NSW: Book a Weekend Eye Test

DTDr Zobaida Tahiri·April 2026·4 min read

Most people put off their eye test because they cannot afford to take time away from work, school drop-offs, or weekday commitments. It is one of the most common reasons eye tests are delayed by months or years, and it is completely understandable.

Prime Optometrists Auburn is open on Saturdays, so you can book your eye test, select glasses, or have a clinical concern assessed without disrupting your week.

What Is Available on Saturdays?

Saturday appointments are full clinical appointments, not a reduced service. Everything available on weekdays is available on Saturday mornings:

  • Comprehensive bulk billed eye examinations for adults and children
  • Glasses prescription and frame selection with HICAPS health fund claiming
  • Children's vision assessments
  • Contact lens consultations and fittings
  • Dry eye assessments
  • Clinical presentations including red eye, foreign body concerns, and other urgent matters

Dr Zobaida Tahiri sees patients on Saturdays. The Saturday appointment is the same consultation you would receive any other day of the week.

Saturday Hours

We are open Saturday mornings from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at 43 Auburn Road, Auburn NSW 2144. Saturday slots fill quickly, particularly for families booking children's appointments and patients claiming glasses on health fund extras. Booking online or calling ahead on (02) 9761 0005 is recommended to secure your preferred time.

Bulk Billing on Saturdays

Yes, Saturday appointments are fully bulk billed under Medicare for eligible patients, the same as any weekday. There is no weekend surcharge and no gap fee for the eye examination. Bring your Medicare card and, if you plan to select glasses, your private health fund card for instant HICAPS claiming.

Who Should Book a Saturday Appointment?

Saturday appointments work particularly well for:

  • Working adults who cannot take time off during the week for a routine eye test or to collect glasses
  • Parents booking children's eye tests during school holidays or on a day when kids are not at school
  • Patients combining appointments who want to have their test and choose frames in one visit without feeling rushed on a weekday
  • Shift workers whose schedules do not align with standard Monday to Friday hours
  • Patients overdue for a test who keep meaning to book but keep pushing it to next week
