About Prime Optometrists

Dr Zobaida Tahiri is one of Australia's youngest optometrists to establish her own greenfield independent clinic, bringing a bold vision for what modern eyecare should look like to the heart of Auburn.

Dr Tahiri completed her Bachelor of Vision Science and Master of Clinical Optometry at the University of New South Wales, graduating as a therapeutically endorsed optometrist, an advanced qualification held by fewer than half of all registered optometrists in Australia.

Therapeutic endorsement means Dr Tahiri is qualified to diagnose and treat a broader range of ocular conditions, including the ability to prescribe therapeutic eye medications. For patients, this means more comprehensive care in a single visit, from routine eye exams to the management of conditions like dry eye, red eye, glaucoma, and anterior segment disease.

Founding Prime Optometrists was a deliberate decision to create something different: a clinic that combines clinical excellence with a genuinely welcoming patient experience, equipped with the most advanced diagnostic technology available in independent optometry.

"I wanted to create a space where patients feel seen, not just examined," says Dr Tahiri. "Where the standard of care is the highest possible, but where you feel comfortable, unhurried, and genuinely cared for."
